My Dental Dilemma

I,unbelievably, broke my tooth(in the back) on a corn chip about 5 months ago. I was so busy with my kids and my writing workload that I just kept putting going to the dentist off. Plus, I have a very low-threshold for pain so I avoid the dentist's chair like the plague. But now the tooth is KILLING me...so I made an appointment a Yiaco Appollo Clinic and am scheduled to have a root canal and crown done in the next few days. I am NOT looking forward to it and am scared to death!!
I always have a bad experience at the dentist. First, the novicaine over here is as numbing as water. I feel all of the pain. It is horrible. My first experience at the dentist's in Kuwait was horrendous. I went to the government clinic. The doctor gave me like 4 shots of anesthesia but I could still feel the pain. She did not believe me and held my head down while she drilled. Meanwhile, the nurse had that suction pipe on the other side of my mouth. I bore the pain for as long as I could but I finally wretched my head free which is a BAD idea when someone has a drill in your mouth!! She ended up drilling a hole in my mouth right under my tongue. I spit in the little bowl and it was just crimson. She kept apologizing and I did too because it was half my fault for moving. That hole took about 6 months to heal. Every few days, once it closed, it would fill will liquid...like a huge blister. Ugh!
So, is it any wonder I hate the dentist?? Good grief!
